He ain't allah...

There is this huge debate going on about the name of allah and who he is.  The story I heard yesterday I think settles it for me.  I want to share it with you!

This is how the story goes...

The day finally arrived.

Forrest Gump dies and goes to Heaven.  He is at the Pearly Gates waiting...then appears St. Peter himself.  Forrest is nervous and excited at the same time!  However, the gates are shut up tight as Forrest approaches the gatekeeper.  St. Peter who is standing there says to Forrest, 'well...is it certainly good to see you. We have heard a whole lot about you but I must tell you that the place is filling up fast and we have been giving everyone this week and entrance exam!  But the test is short and it should not give you too much of a problem.  But you must pass it to be admitted!  You can't get in without answering the questions correctly!'

So Forrest ponders St. Peter's words and answers him oh so respectful and said, 'its sure good to be here, St. Peter, Sir!  But nobudy tole me bafore about no entrance exam.  I sure hope that the tess ain't too hard... 'cause if you seen the movie 'bout my life, it was a big enough tess as it was!  But I thank I dun awe rite!'

St. Peter continued, 'Yes, I know Forrest, I saw the movie, but the test is only three questions!  You should do just fine.

First Question:  What two days of the week start with the letter "T"?
Second Question:  How many seconds are there in one year?
Third Question:  What is GOD's first name?

Forrest listens intently and with a very pensive look on his face as he stands in front of  St. Peter but then turns to leave and also to think over the questions given him...

Forrest takes all day to really think through these important questions!  He wants to get all of the correct answers so he can get in!

So early the next morning Forrest returns and sees St. Peter at the gate.  St. Peter spots Forrest in the crowd and he motions with his right hand for Forrest to come on up to the front since he had been there yesterday and said to him...'Forrest, now that you have had a chance to think about the three questions and really work on giving me the right answers, now tell me what your answers are!...

Well, Sir...the first one that you gave me which was 'which two days of the week begin with the letter "T"?
Well, shucks!  That is easy!  The antsur would be "Today" and "Tomorra!"

St. Peter's eyes widened and then squinted to the side as he looked at Forrest and said, 'well son, that's not what I was thinking about but you do have a point.  I really did not specify what kind of  "to" that was required in your answer so I will have to give you credit for your answer since you were listening really close to the question!  So now how about the second one?

Well Sir, the second one was a bit harder but I thank I got it!  The only real antsur that I could come up with was "Twelve!"

Twelve?... replied St. Peter! How is Heaven's name could you come up with such an answer!

Forrest smiled like a possum eatin briars!  "Sir, Shucks, there's got to be twelve "2nds"... January 2nd, February 2nd, March 2nd, April 2nd, May 2nd, June 2nd,  July 2nd, August 2nd, September 2nd, October 2nd, November 2nd and December 2nd!  Hold it!, interrupts St. Peter!!!  I see where you are going with this!  And I can see your point.  You were listening really close to the question!  But that was not what I had in mind so... I will have to give you credit for it, seeing that you did hear what I asked!

Now, let's go on to the third and final question... Can you tell me GOD's first name?

Forrest did not hesitate at all and fired right back at St. Peter!  "Sure can!"  Forrest replied!  Well, what is it, asked St. Peter...?

It's Andy!!!

What!!!?

It's Andy!!!, said Forrest!  Then St. Peter was really exasperated but Forrest was smiling from ear to ear!  He knew he had him then!

OK, smart guy, I can understand how you came up with the first two answers but just how in the world did you come up with the name of "Andy" for first name of GOD?

Shucks, Sir, that was the easiest one um all!  I lurnt that one from a song we use ta sang in church!
"ANDY walks with me...  ANDY talks with me... ANDY tells me I am his own!"

With a huge grin on St. Peter's face, he opened up the Pearly Gates and said:  "RUN FORREST, RUN!"

So from this simple story in the life of  Forrest Gump I have learned that God's name is really ANDY!

Forrest you sure make life easier!  Thanks Bud!

Narnia is the place!

Since leaving home over a week and a half ago I have been listening to The Chronicles of Narnia, the Audio Version by Focus on the Family which C.S. Lewis wrote.  It has really helped in passing the time.   As I have traveled, Lewis' books have opened up my mind to ideas and concepts about this Life and Eternity that have before now been non existent in my thinking!

I am 'hearing' what is being read with almost new 'eyes' or 'ears' in this case to Jack Lewis' insights as to how the world is from his point of view.  Just the concept of who Aslan is, in the story... is amazing!

There was one character in the story who encountered Aslan and was so very fearful of being in his presence and haltingly asked who he was and Aslan replied, "I am myself!"  It just makes me wonder what it was like for Moses before the bush that was burning but did not burn up, as he asked what GOD's name was...!

Today I was about to relax!

Today I was able to do something that I have not been able to do in years simply because I live almost 800 miles away from where I was raised.  The thing that I was able to do was to watch an Auburn Football game with my parents!  It has been years since I have done this and it fit like an old shoe!

Auburn University's Football Team ran over the University of Georgia's Football Team and was able to retain their perfect winning streak which is now 11 wins and no loses!  It was a fun night indeed!  I got to see the field that I used to play on back in 75' and 76' which was treat for me!

I was fun seeing the uniform that I once wore!  The Orange and Blue!  War Eagle!

My first post...

Tonight I was able to spend some time with old friends.  We shared what the Lord Jesus was doing in Dearborn.   The real surprise for most is that the Lord is not going to be frustrated in regards to ministry to people no matter where they live.  It does not matter where those people are located, He will venture into those neighborhoods and actually 'do His thing' in regards to bringing to bear his love in folks lives!  For the love of God is a massive dagger in the heart of evil with repercussions in the Spirit that actually break the darkness!  'Alleluia!  He reigns!
