Today I left the house and headed toward the office on foot (both feet really!)
It took me about an hour and a quarter to get there starting out on Tireman Avenue and walking to Greenfield then going South to Michigan Ave. to the Office. I rested for a bout 20 minutes and then started back toward the house.
I walked on Michigan until I got to Miller and took Miller Road up to Tireman Avenue where I turned right and headed back home.
It too me right at an hour to walk home from the office. It was at a good brisk pace on both legs of the route! I used the walking sticks that Vesa and Ashleigh purchased for me. They really seem to help!
After getting home I logged my trip on 'Map my Walk' It was a 7.6 miles trek, I think... or somewhere around there.
It has been over a week since I last walked. Last week at the lake, I came down hard on a rock with my right arch and bruised it...That is the first time that has happened. So this was the first day back walking... 'on the training trail!'
Folks seems to be really friendly today! Many said... "Hello, how are you...?" I would respond "Well!" and then say, "I am walking to Mackinaw!" Most of them just 'lit up!' It was fun! It would take my mind off the task long enough so I did not get mentally tired!
Also I used a Camel back water pouch that my son Paul bought for me! It is a smaller back pack with a water bladder in one compartment that is attached to a flexible pipe that comes around the pack to the front. At the end of the pipe is a valve that I can just put in my mouth and drink when I get thirsty. When I would start feeling a bit dry in my mouth of or my legs would ache a bit, I would take three strong swiggs and could immediately feel the difference!
Also I noticed the last couple of miles that my legs and hips were feeling the walk. So I would step over onto the grass and walk for a bit there and the pressure would go away!
I am looking forward to this trip! Tomorrow I hope to stretch this out a bit longer!
So that is all for today!
Simply Trey!
